seeking a new daily...need ideas!
Whats up guys. I frequent the super duty and excursion forums quite often, didn't realize we had this section of the forum though.
Ok so here's a little background. I currently daily an 06 scion xB which is good on gas, spacious inside, etc. It was my dads, I took over payments since he went back to daily driving his excursion. Currently owe 3k on it, and I wanted to sell and get something different, but he wants to keep it. So in a few months I may give it back to him to use, and just get myself a newer daily to toy around in.
I have an 01 excursion but I dont daily due to gas (v10). I also have a 99 f250, but its a beater, no air, so thats just when I need to haul stuff.
the scion I use like a truck a lot, I work in IT but im currently remodeling a house for me to live in, and I do other houses as side work/hobby as well. So the scion usually has its seats folded, I have a hitch for a small trailer, and I've strapped things to the roof more times than I can count haha. So part of me is saying get a nice little ranger, decent mpg, and a truck bed for practicality purposes unless its something large/heavy, or messy, where I can use my beater f250.
another option is a f150 for the same reasons.
but most recently, for some reason, ive been looking at like 2010-12 mustang convertibles. Always kinda wanted a convertible, and I kinda wanna get one just to get it out of my system. I test drove an auto v6 the other day and it was pretty nice as far as cruising with the top down. I have an 87 wrangler but a convertible is different than a bumpy jeep.
any of you guys have mustangs? I like the 10-12 body, I like the front end and tails of the 13s but thats more money, so I'm not likely going to consider a 13.
looking to keep it under 15k max, preferably closer to 10k. Thats why I test drove a v6. A GT would be nice, but its not needed. I don't care if its a v6, I'm not buying it to mod heavily and speed in, more for the convertible aspect.
obviously if I go this route, I wouldn't use it as a truck like I do the scion, so id just have to use my f250 when i need to haul wood or anything that wont fit in the trunk.
So im looking for opinions, things to look for, etc, on 2010-12 mustangs. Plan is to have it maybe a year or 2, at which point my house remodel and additions should be done, garage built, and settled in, and id like to get what I really want, a 2010 6.4 crew cab dually. Just not an option right now. Thats why I'm leaning towards the mustang over the ranger/f150 since I'll eventually have the 6.4 as a daily.
Last thing, since I only plan on keeping it maybe 2 years, I dont mind getting one with 60 to 75k miles or maybe a tad more, especially if its a certified used car, since its not like it's going to be with me for 6+ years. That should help to keep the sale price closer to what I'm looking to finance.
sorry for the long post, but I look forward to hearing from you guys!
