57 f350 restoration help
I am new here and am restoring a 1957 F-350. I am having the widow maker front wheels modified and they should be back next week. The stud bolts on the right rear duallies are a tad too short and am having trouble finding a source. I am also missing a single lug on the rear left and they are left hand threads.

First, welcome to FTE. Glad to have you, and glad to see a 57 tonner being saved.
Your questions raise more questions in my head. Is your truck originally single rear wheel (SRW) or dual rear wheel (DRW)? And why are wheel studs shorter than the others? Only on one side? Did some prior owner jam some wrong studs in the holes after twisting off the originals not realizing he was tightening instead of loosening. I've been through the parts books and have some probable solutions for you, but before cluttering this with numbers think your thread would be best moved to the 57-60 forum where the group can chime in. You won't get as much input leaving this here. One basic answer is that your studs are 5/8" x 18 tpi and nuts the same with a 90° cone angle.
Morris - can you move this? Stu

I'll do a private message to Morris (Fomoco1) and see if he can move it.
In the mean time, I find that the rear wheel studs are Ford #s B9TT 1118-A (RH) and B9TT 1119-A (LH). They are 5/8" x 18 tpi and measure 2 29/64" long. The Ford numbers cross refer to Budd 67461 and 67462 respectively. The Euclid numbers are E5613R and E5613L. The Brake and Wheel Parts (BWP) numbers are M94 and M95. The National Wheel and Rim Association (NWRA) cross reference codes are X1190 or X1250 for the RH, and X1191 or X1251 for the LH. Napa or any of the major parts stores can track down your studs using one or another of these numbers. One reason to have this posted in the 57-60 forum is to have our member Bill (goes by NumberDummy) check me on the base Ford numbers. He's a retired Ford parts manager. If he comes up with some others I can find the cross references. Stu
Edit - I tried to pm Morris but apparently he's not around to get them now. So you might try to start a new thread on the 57-60 forum to say hi there, and I'll cut/paste my reply into that. Stu
