I was going to suggest timing too, how much oil dose it burn?
Something else to think about if it doesn't use a bunch of oil. it just need valves NA valves don't like extended periods of high egts. I've burnt two set out in two engines. If the po was like me and used the 1200 mark as the governor for miles on end it's hard on valves.

The GP timing is right on, so its no issue with the GP's...

Possibly timing, but we don't know (If you need me to send my meter down, that's what I do, let me know)...

But bottom line, compression test again with the new starter, if its still down around 300, that's the issue.

It does sound like ***, either it has a lot of air in the system, or it doesn't have enough compression to light the fire...

Thank you for the info on the valves... I don't know how the PO used to drive it lol I've got a spare 6.9 that I'm rebuilding right now that'll probably go into this truck

I timed it yesterday night, it's set at 9° right now. I'll have to do another compression test next week, I just put 400 miles on it today lol it ran great egts never got over 975 coolant stayed about 200. Oil pressure was perfect, 5th gear at 65 was 2500rpm ish (4.11 r&p) front tank I got 15.3mpg
I love the pump!! It gets it lol, it starts right up hot like almost sounds like a half revolution
