I have a 2000 lightning and want it to look like the 2001. Do the headlights and taillights from a 2001 fit the 2000? Also there is a 20 hp difference. The intake for a 2001 is larger. Does anyone know exactly what intake parts I need to make this coversion? Thanks all.
Yes, the headlight and marker lights are interchangeable. I have seen kits on the web and Ebay which describe as able to fit the newer style lenses into regular 97-00 F-150's.
The intake issue you mention was actually a defectively engineered part on the 1999 and 2000. They redesigned the intake assembly for the 2001 model year and, at the same time, managed to get 20 more hp out of the re-designed part. I have read the intake and the spacer are matched so you need both to get a good match and hook up. I was told by one SVT dealer here in Austin that if you own a 99 or 2000, you can get the kit that SVT has available to correct the problem as a warranty replacement if warrantly is still in effect. I don't see why you can't buy the kits just like a regular part and for cost if you are out of your warranty period. Call your local SVT certified dealer to confirm the kit's availability and price.
