I'm happy with it. I just hauled away some old landscaping bricks so it's kind of dirty now. I'll probably rise it out tomorrow. I'll take a couple pictures. Let me know what you think about it after visiting the store.

Congrats and welcome! I too toiled over mine for about a year or more and it literally fell in my lap as the deal of the century.

Tell us more, we're all salivating to know your gear ratios, equipment and odometer reading.

Congratulations on the well researched truck. Looks and sounds like a real winner.

I wish you many years and miles with the beauty.

For what it's worth, my truck came with a Rhino Lining and I immediately had to invest in a load bar. The finish is possibly the most slick it could be. Makes spray outs nice but cargo slides everywhere. Or, I drive like a maniac.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who went over the decision for a long time. I had the same thing happen where I was looking and looking and then boom...there it was and I couldn't pass it up.

So it's a 2011 XTR with 53k miles. 3.55 gears. Thankfully I've now got brand new Goodyear Wrangler SR-As that were free. I'll take those for now and asses wear accordingly and then probably move on to some type of AT tire. Thankfully the truck was well taken care of and only driven my an old man who babied it.

It's a great truck. It's a dream compared to my old Nissan Xterra or the Chevy 1500 I had (forgive me). It drives like a car and I can't get enough of that turbo whine. Seriously couldn't be happier about the deal.

I've heard some sub-standard reviews on Rhino Liner. My father in law has it in his truck and it's chipping pretty bad. He even suggested Line X. I'll be looking at drop in options tomorrow along with a spray in so I'll be able to make a call hopefully in the next few days.

Thanks for the well wishes. Can't wait to hang around here for a long, long time.

Week 1

So just an update to talk about the first week...what a machine this is! I can't tell you how happy with it I am. I'm really impressed with the Ecoboost engine. If I had to find a gripe it would be you don't get that gutsy growl you may expect, but there are ways to work with that if I get the itch.

Coming from an SUV with a 4.0 v6 I'm really happy with the MPG this is getting so far. The in dash reads 17.6 on the first tank. I was always hand calculated on the last vehicle and didn't have as many gadgets, but I rarely saw that average.

It's a used truck with 50k miles now so I'm just keeping an eye and ear out for little things. I did notice more that the transition from 1st to 2nd is a bit rough I feel. That'll be something I'll look into sooner rather than later. There's also just getting used to the feeling of an open and unloaded backend. I had it loaded up a bit this weekend and it was squatted and smooth but an empty bed lends itself to a little bit of bounce here and there I've noticed.

Otherwise things are great. The dealer I bought it from replaced all the tires because they were bald so I've got new rubber. I can't tell you what a burden lifted that is. To not HAVE to drop $900 off the bat is huge.

This weekend will be the off-road test when I drive her out to the farm to hunt. That new rubber will come in handy!

Sounds nice! Good deal on the tires. Did you look at bed liners or Tonneau covers?
