My Turn! 06 E350 6.0 missing, rough runing

Hey all, reading up on what to expect, but figured I'd start a thread so i can get answers.

2006 E350 6.0 167,XXX Van
Stock truck, always has been- no Major work done to my knowledge( I saw 38 pages of service history @ ford dealer where I purchased used- showed diligent 6.0 service history and good general care taken, no major issues)

500 miles on oil change(blue rotella)+ archoil

500 miles on fuel filters- some slight indication of possible tank delam, but nothing serious.

I buy fuel @high volume station

started and ran great this morning, 25 minute drive.
parked and sat for about half hour
started up and had slight miss. drove back home,
on highway -stuttering at 1900-2300rpms, get on it and she goes fine, has boost pressures up to high teens anyways. 2 stops in route, got worse and worse running. did not notice any smoke.

by the time i got it into the garage, she barely chugs off the line. missing bad.

I do have a Scangauge, but dont have all the "right" xgauges installed yet to troubleshoot this.

Temp deltas have always been good.

I do have 47.6-48+ volts FMP, and she builds boost.

looks like i need to add a few gauges, I do have the great PDF list and knowledge to install, but what do I need to look for?

Thanks for the help!

Ok, loaded up some more xgauges.

cold start this morning was good, seems like normal. Warmed up a little and started missing.

measured on a "cool" engine

DTC= 1

Gauge KOEO idle 2500
VLT 12.0 13.6 UP TO 14.1
MAP 14.3 14.4 19.9-20.3
EBP 14.3 18.1 29.3
BAR 14.3 ------------
ICP 7 815 1556
ICV .24 1.06 1.9
FMP 48 48 47.5

also note that I use motorcraft filters.

drained clean diesel from bowl yesterday.

the bubble test- you mean pulling secondary filter and watching for aerated fuel? PITA, but probably doable with a mirror.

Contribution Test.

Hmmm.

I just got in touch with a friend who works at a medium duty truck shop.
They have a Snap-on and OTC scanners which he said will pull DTC's, and one of em would do a buzz test.

Anyone know if I can do contribution test with one of these scanners?

I will do some more research and see what I can get done with the scanner tomorrow.

Thanks

Ford IDS is the only true contribution test with the ability to go manual/ non-compensated and turn off injectors.

AE does a low resolution contribution test.

So you're getting 6 psi of boost at 2500 rpm without a load? As I recall from memory, that's a little high without a load? Then again, this is on a cold engine.

If you get the same results at operating temps, check the following sensors and wiring. Clean if dirty. Use a weed eater wire (or similar) to clean out tubing.

EBP
MAP
IAT2
BAR

Also check the VGT % and report.

Do you still have your EGR valve? Could it be sticking open?

EGR valve is still intact.

I suppose that I should pull and clean sensors first, before I go and take it in?

Talking to my buddy, he says their Snap-on will do buzz tests and cylinder cut outs, as well as pull the codes.

whom is a good reliable source?

what else should be done?

how bad is it on a van body????- there is not much room in there....

It's your high idle (2500 rpm) boost still high? It should be about 1 or 2.
