The only trans missions that will bolt to your bell is a pre 64 four speed or five speed truck trans.

You can have the Big Ys 302/332 bell sent out to be machined and adapted to a NV2500 or later NP or even a T19 but expect to shell out at lead 2500 to 3000 for the conversion

List the trans that is on your door plate.

332 (and 302) are Lincoln derived Y blocks, were only installed in 1956/63 F700/950's. Only V8 available for 1961/64 F350's was the 292 2V.

The motor isn't orginal to the truck its out of the 70's or maybe the 80's is what the owner told me that put it in the truck. He fooled me it looks stock in there.

Color me confused. The 332 Lincoln was last made in 1963 and that's what is in your truck? But the engine is from the 70's or maybe 80's? I'm not able to connect the dots.

I was told that it was a industrial engine that was in the bigger trucks. I was also told that it has sodium valves or something like that. I'm just as comfused as you are.

How many valve cover bolts per side does it have?

There are 5 bolts that bolt the valve covers on and the valve covers also bolt to the intake. The motor is stock and it has red paint. I was told that the motor was from a big truck like a f600 and the motor was a industrial engine with sodium filled valves. Would a picture of the motor help at all?

Don't need to see a pic.
It's an FT engine, these were installed in 1964 thru 1978 500 series and larger trucks, with one exception.

There are 4 different FT's: 330 2V Medium Duty - 330 2V Heavy Duty - 361 2V or 4V (1974/78) - 391 4V

1973/78 F350's made exclusively for U-Haul came with the 330 2V M/D

After further research I have found that it is a ford 330. Does any one have any specs on this motor. Is it any good? What years was it made? What size trucks did they come in? What transmissions will bolt up to it? Any information would be great thanks!
