2003 Key FOB Programming help and solutions

This was wire tied up under the dash.

I pressed and held button for 15 seconds to enter programming mode.

I have a 2003 250 SD XLT with keyless entry. No Keypad on door and the owner’s manual instructions do not let me enter programming mode. I found a post that will let me get to program mode (below). I can program and unprogram original 2 key fobs. I also get audible chirp acknowledging that 2 new FOBS are programmed. After completing the programming sequence, turning ignition to off, only the 2 new FOB work. If I do not do the original and just 2 new, none work,
2 original are the only ones that are working.

Copy of post text:
"Do you guy's know whether you have the RKE that was install at time of purchase which would be incorporated into the VSM computer or did you have the RKE computer for the remotes installed after purchase? the reason I ask is the procedures are different. the one in the owner's guide is for the incorporated one and the other one is,
Program up to 8 remotes
1. open drivers door
2. turn vehicle ignition on (not running)
3. press and hold programming button under dash after 15 sec horn will chirp 3 times which indicates the unit has entered programming mode
4. release programming button
5. press the lock button on the remote to be programmed the horn will chirp once indicating system has learned the remote
6. repeat step 5. for additional remotes
7. turn vehicle ignition off to exit programming mode test all remotes to ensure they work
8. DONE
Another note most trucks that have power lock does not mean the they are equipped with a
Remote Keyless Entry System it just means they have power locks this was the issue I had with my truck and then added the RKE ford system, sorry for the bad news."

End of post:
My question is: I purchased these off of amazon for a ford Keyless entry system and it appears I have a Dealer installed keyless entry system by ford. Any clue on what else to try?
Thanks! BTW hope this procedure will help others having difficulty

You have to have the correct frequency remotes. Some late model remotes do not work with early keyless entry systems.

GQ43VT4T and CWTWB1W313 will sub for each other (3 button)

GQ43VT11T and CWTWB1W331 will sub for each other (3 button)

But neither of the two groups above will sub for the other group

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I have also heard from the seller, the units I purchased will work only with a Factory installed RKE system. Not an aftermarket or a Ford dealer installed system.
I hope at least the procedure above will help others that, unknown to them, have the same setup, or others looking specifically for an after Factory programming procedure.
