2013 F250. OEM headlights are not bright. At all. I don't want to do a $1,000 modification; will different bulbs make a difference, or is it the whole assembly & the reflector in which case no bulb will make a difference? Anybody have any positive experience?

I have been driving a lot at night lately and I too have noticed these headlights are really bad. There was a thread about LED bulbs, I will have to do a search.

I can't wait to do an LED retrofit for these headlights.

I have very few complaints with my SuperDuty... This happens to be one of the few complaints I have... Kinda wonder what Ford was thinking in this area. Every other vehicle made in the past 5 years has better/brighter factory headlights...

And I too wonder what a bulb switch would do. I, too, don't want to spend a $1K either... I am almost ready to put some aux. lights on it... But really I would just like the regular headlights and fogs to be brighter.

This is what I did and it really works great. Would still like to upgrade the headlights though.

I agree, but I haven't seen anyone actually make them better.

Maybe they need adjusting. When my camper is loaded in back, the headlights definitely light up the road - maybe a little too much.
Of course, it was dead black country road. Maybe that makes a difference?

This made a huge difference in my truck! From the factory they were aimed way to low. Aiming your headlights for how your truck goes down the road well be the best bang for your buck, different halogen bulbs gains are minimal.
Here's what mine looked like on our headlamp aimer at work.

Here you can see mine were about 5° too low, and I keep about a 1,000 lbs of gear in my truck.

All better.

Now, they are NOT a HID projector by any means, but are tolerable now. I have a light bar that I need to get around to installing to supplement the high beams, and have a very close eye on those LED bulbs as well.

Although, they are much brighter than my 2002 F150, I'll keep an eye on the LED end of things...

I have 6k HID's in mine, better than the halogen bulbs that were in there. I have no problem seeing on low beams but high beams don't go way down the road like some vehicles.

my problem is dark country roads with long stretches of straight, and sides where the deer stand. the stock lights just give me a short distance ahead.

the suburban and prius brights where fantastic
