What I find interesting here is the link that discusses timing chain stretch and failure and associates that with infrequent oil changes and poor performing oil filters.

 

That filter looked familiar.

At what point did it change to the 500S ?

I wonder if the purpose was to help prevent drain back as he discussed.

IIRC the "S" designates it as having a silicone valve.


The only thing that concerns me about the TSB is how many years it covers.

Makes one suspect they don't know why its happening yet.
