1953 Anniversary edition??

I was looking for something else on the local Craigslist and saw this....

I don't have room for another project but thought I'd share the link.

So, is the anniversary edition something that appeals to anyone? It is a couple hours away from me so I won't go to see it in person.

AFAIK, all '53's were anniversary editions. The horn button is about all that's special about them. That's a rust bucket, no way that's a $3500 truck.

Must have sold? The link says it was deleted by owner.

Ford made a big thing of 1953. They introduced a new tractor series, the NAA and called it the Golden Jubilee. The 1953 was the only year to carry the special badge. Desirable among tractor folks.

I was born in '53 so it had to be an awesome year.
I would still rather have a '50 Merc though.

I believe I looked at this truck on craigslist. Can't remember because I've looked at so many over the past few weeks.

This car has been in the barn now for about 12 years...it was my #1 project when I got the F100 bug! It sat in a barn in N. Dakota since 1967 before I got it. Now I have a 40 Ford coupe in the garage and the Merc is sliding even farther down the queue. It will get done in the next year or two...that will leave me with a 56 F100, a 40 Deluxe coupe, and the Merc; after that it's Miller time.

I actually like the '48-'50 shoe box Ford
more than the Merc car or Lincoln of that
era. And nothing beats a Monkey Face.
I had a "53 Merc two door with all the bells
and whistles. Car was in like new condition.
I changed out the auto trans for a 3 speed on
the tree with over drive. Took the column from
a '53 Ford sedan. Worked well and looked great
for a 16 year old kid back then. That and a '53
Ford ranch wagon that was also like new with an
engine that ran very hot. Wish I could of kept
them both. But they was so clean that I was offered
crazy money for that time for them. It was the late '60's
and I had just discovered California Girls.
So needed the money. They still like Money.
