Forscan/Torque Pro

Forscan
I am not familiar with Forscan so I went and looked it up it seems like a Ford only Windows version for the laptop that appears to work like a scanner. According to their documentation it will read all modules and run all tests that IDS can run. More so than any genaric obdII scanner. Uses the elm interface like my scan software does. Tempted to download and install it just to see. By the way the software is free.
If there sales propoganda is true will be a heck of a tool.
Supposedly there is a cellphone version in the works.
Torque pro I have never used either but from everything I have read it is another limited function phone app.

How does the third ids find misfires? Is not like there's a sensor that tracks cylinder compression .... is there?

My attempt at testing the forscan software was a bust. Even tho my scan software uses a Palmer interface which uses the elm software. The forscan is designed to only work with a bluetooth/wifi elm interface that I do not have so I could not connect to my test truck.
Well I tried folks. I was really looking forward to seeing how and if the labscope feature worked.

I used it several times awhile back. It does graph things like EGR position, ICP/IPR etc in real time. It has a few initiated tests for things like instrument panel, OBD readiness, and I think it has an ABS test also. It didn't do contribution/balance or injector tests in the previous version though. That would be sweet if they added that.
I just saw your other post. I wasn't aware it offered volt/ohm/amp or freq testing. I never played with that part if it has it.
