Exclamation curise controll problems still!!!

Hello,
I am having issues with my cruise controll i looked at all past fourms of it and cant seem to diagnose the problem. my horn works just fine. all my grounds and connections are clean. a while back i got both my brake booster and vacume replaced (vacume suction is normal) and been having problems since.

do you guys have any ideas and advice?

it would be nice to have my cruise controll back for those long highway rides.

Yes, it may be out of adjustment.

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the dump valve to the servo at the servo. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the hose, and pump up a vacuum. If a vacuum cannot be obtained, the hose or the dump valve leaks and should be replaced or adjusted. Step on the brake pedal. The vacuum should be released. If it is not, adjust as described below:

1. Move the valve forward in the retaining clip with the valve plunger contacting the brake pedal adapter and the pedal in the released position until 3.2mm (1/8 inch) or less of the plunger shows.

2. Make sure brake pedal is against the stop in the release position after adjustment.

After thinking about this the most likely cause is that your vacuum brake booster is out of adjustment.
This would cause the brake peddle to be too low and the dump valve would be venting.

I'm subscribed b/c mine worked on the way home from buying the truck which was a 175 miles one way but then next time I tried it didn't work! Horn works fine but I haven't checked anything else yet. What connections? Behind the steering wheel?

You have a different speed control system than the OP.
Yours is all electric (1993) while his is vacuum (1989) controlled.

You may want to start your own thread.

Ahh thanks Subford! Was wondering why I didn't have that switch under the peddle. You are the man, I don't know how you know as much as you do about these old Fords but it's very helpful
