in tank screens
Hello everyone. I have an E-350 van with 7.3. I was wondering if the van has the in tank screens in the sending unit like the F-series trucks do. The reason I am asking is when under load the van will start to lose power and sometimes stall. There are no codes what so ever. I have not checked fuel pressure yet but I do know that if there are screens in there that is most definately the cause of it because all of my F-series trucks did the exact same thing and I did the mods to it and that took care of the problem. Any help is always welcome.
Thank You

Hey fellow 7.3L PSD E350 owner!
May want to take a look at this to see what I found when I dropped my tank:

A very handy trick to empty a full tank: Connect a rubber hose to the fuel bowl drain and extend the hose into a bucket or fuel can. Open the drain. Remove the fuel pump positive power wire. Wire up a 20 amp fuse in line with two alligator clips and an inline switch. Attach one clip to the positive battery post and the other to the fuel pump positive. Use the switch to turn on and off the fuel pump to fill clean fuel cans/5 gallon buckets with lids. I have been able to get all but a couple of gallons out. Unfortunately this will not work if the screens are clogged. Good luck! Larry
