Working in a shop you would have to raise and lower the truck more times, im seeing your point as it doesnt matter as long as the drain plug is still out when the filter is pulled.

You have a good point with the lift. I don't have one < sniffle >
This is also one of the main reasons that people find after changeing oil and running for only a few minutes the oil is discolored. The filter holds the drain button down. If you change your oil first and filter last you put about a quart of dirty oil back into the pan to mix with the fresh oil.
Your 6.0 holds a LOT of oil you can't drain! What dif is it if there is a little more?
I think I read somewhere it's about 3 quarts. That would be in the
HPOP system and the oil cooler. If you do a cooler change then check
the oil it will be a lot cleaner for that 5K interval. But on the next 5K
it won't look as clean.
