We'll with everything else I've been doing to the truck I guess I should replace my lose front end. Steering wheel has a lot more shake in it now when I go over bumps. So I am going to replace the box with a red head and already have a rancho stabalizer. What else and what brands do you all like for anything else to replace. As in u joints and ends.

I would do the drag link inner and outer and check the track bar bushing and ball joint and check the upper and lower ball joints. I just did the drag link inner and outer and steering stabilizer along with new shocks and went all OEM. When the time comes to replace the steering gear I will go with the red head.

So I should go all oem? Or go to napa and get everything

Also is their anywhere I can find out what all parts I should replace while I'm their. I was looking at white bear ford. But it's all broken up. I am trying to find a "list" of what I should order.

I just did this at 173K. Mine was getting bad. All oem ball joints, track bar, track bar ball joint, all tie rods bearings and hub seals. I could have gotten away without doing a couple items but since you have to tear down the hub seal and spindle to do the ball joints I just did everything except the box. I went with oem because it wasn't much more and on some parts less than the parts stores. Ford also now has a two year unlimited mileage warranty. But I figured the truck made it to 173K with the stock parts odds of me doubling that are slim so I have the confidence of knowing(or thinking) it should last awhile.

I just put a red head gear box and stabilizer on mine. Previous owner had replaced the ball joints about 70K miles ago and they were tight. Have not done drag links or track bar. I still have some play and I'm a little disappointed. Perhaps the links and track bar are my problem, but I haven't checked on it since I added the stabilizer and red head. For me, I'm not sure the stabilizer didn't help more than the new gear box.

Trac bar

I did not replace the bar just the ends. There is a bushing on one end and a ball joint on the other. I got the bushing end from NAPA. The ball joint I could only find a Motorcraft part number and I got it through Amazon.

I think I got the trac bar off with the pitman arm puller, and got the ball joint out with a ball joint press. The top of the press was rubbing the frame but it got the job done.

The bushing put up a fight and was essentially destroyed getting it out of the trac bar.

Precision Metal Fab makes good stuff. i'd go ahead and replace the trac bar first, and replace other stuff as i go along. do all ur ball joints. if u want, zone off-road makes good radius arms. just my 2 cents. lol.

We'll priced everything out at autonation. $810.77 for tie rods, draglinks, all ball joints and bushings he also said I needed a sleeve for the tracbar? I am going to stop by napa and get a quote. I'm just on the fence going away from oem. I don't want to have to do this in 30k again.
