Hood hinges

Anyone have any experience with repro hood hinges? I bought a set from Mac's and they are crap!!!!!!! There is no adjustment in them due to the fact that the 2 slotted holes in the main bracket the bolts are at the top of the holes. The Hole in the side support bracket the bolt is at the bottom of the hole. Thus no up and down adjustment. Are all the hinges made by the same company. Mine has a made in Argentina sticker on them. THEY ARE JUNK!!!! I know I won't be able to return them as I bought them a year ago.

Try this company, if you still have your old hinges.

I just called them and left a message for them to call me back tomorrow. I like the fact that they will do a zinc phosphate coating on them. I am sure that is what the factory used on them new.

Lots of hinges don't need repairs; they simply need re-plating and careful re-installation. I cleaned off the grease and dropped them off at the platers. Here's a hinge after yellow zinc plating.

Suggest replace both if one can afford it and be done w/ it.

Had to replace hinge about 1 month ago on the 65. Searched online catalogs and found many of the Ford part supplier's I usually go to for replacement parts had them on backorder. Found one who I believe is fairly popular w/ members that had a set for around $90 ea.. Decided at that price I would just replace the hinge that was damaged but now the hood w/ the original hinge sets higher so now intend to put the $ out for the other.

Thanks ND I called Parts International and they had 1 of each left said 1 was 800 the other was 450. Bout choked on my coffee. They said since this is the last of them they would discount them. I asked how much and the guy said how does 139 each sound. I said sold. To top it off since it was over 160 dollars they pay shipping. So I have an NOS set coming
Also checked on rebuilding my originals before I called on the NOS ones. Called 2 places and price was 450 a set at 1 and 480 asset at the other. Both said 61 to 66 Ford pickups were their most expensive as the rivot holes are round on one part and rectangular on the other which requires more machine work to be done. All and all the rebuild sounds like a good way to go with either company in my opinion
