Original Carb Question

Hey all, it's been a while. Ended up keeping my truck. Had the radiator rebuilt and things are going well. I had a question regarding the originality of my carburetor.

Did any 1972 F250, Sport Custom Camper Special, C6 Auto 390 V8s come from the factory with a Holley 2BBL 2300?

Thank you!

Dang! Thanks for confirming that. Well then, I won't feel too bad about rebuilding the engine in the future. Although this holley has the manual choke cable and **** next to the hazards ****, I'm assuming that's a custom job. Oh well, I'll leave it there, it's better than leaving a hole

The simplicity of the Autolite 2V is cool but so is the bigger power curcuit of the Holley. Plus they came in two sizes. Basically the same size as the Ford at 350 CFM (list #7448) and the super deuce at 500 CFM(list #4412). There are Holley conversion kits to change yours to electric. Or get a factory Bump choke cable like my 1968 has. This would have a bezel that matches the rest of your switches.

Okay cool! That actually sounds awesome. Yeah I didn't really realize the **** wasn't stock until I looked in the owner's manual where it said that **** is an optional cargo light switch/****. And yes, I do have the 500cfm (4412). That makes me happy. Do you know of a source for those factory choke bezel/*****?

68/69 F100/F250 except 4x4/f350 with 360 and 390. 35.5" long.
They are serviced as a cable and bezel assembly by DC. And the **** separate.
In my Feb 2013 catalog. the cable/bezel assy. is cheap at $25.00. Part number C5TZ9700L. The Bump matching **** is $12.50. Part number C8UZ17513A.
Note. This cable is not listed for engine size so will be cut-to-fit.

Also, I've found that only stick shift has the manual chokes.
I think 70 & up everything was auto choke after that.

I bagged a nice choke cable and dash bezel lock rear nut.
I converted my 600 holley over to manual choke since mind it a manual tranny.

High Altitude has got me a few times early morning starting that locked the auto choke plate closed..

Yeah I don't ever use my choke, moving it at all prevents me from starting or running, it has to be left wide open. I don't understand it

My '68 CS has a manual choke and an auto(C6). Yes, it is stock; I've had it for 43 years.

I've been looking at F250's up to 67-69 and the autos do have the manual choke.

Oh yeah? Get some decent C/S fender emblems for my 1968 and I'll buy 'em off you Rich. My PO stripped all mouldings and emblems off mine. And didn't fill the holes. What a wingnut. Looks stupid now but ends up being a savings grace. I want to put the mouldings on once I can afford to buy 'em.

Did'ja know that there are two different widths of upper body side mouldings for 1968's?

All 1967, 1968 Custom Cab/Ranger before serial number C56,001: 1 1/4" wide.

1968 Custom Cab/Ranger from serial number C56,001, ditto 1969 & 1970/72 Sport Custom: 1 1/2" wide.

1969: The BATJAC film production company bought a F250 Ranger from Ralph Williams Ford in Encino.

When the new owner walked out of the showroom to take delivery, all worked stopped...as all the employees crowded around the truck, wanting to meet John Wayne in person.
