I found Demond Wilson's website and sent him a message about the truck. He'll probably never get the message, and he might not really care. If anybody deserves to try to buy that truck, it should be him, IMO. His website is pretty interesting. I didn't realize he was a Vietnam combat vet before the show. It also says he was wounded during his time in the 4th Infantry Division.

its probably the last thing he wants to see. its like quitting a job and saying youll stop by to visit and you been at the place so long you really dont care to ever stop by really.

He's been living off the royalties on that show for most of his life, I think he may have fond memories.

Stick to your "coal rollin" because as far as I'm concerned when I see Black smoke I think it looks like a "junker"

Of the 300,000 or so 51 ford trucks this IS the one from an iconic tv show. Not everyone can say they have "THE" truck. some people are just jealous because they cant have it.

If it was a 56 I would have already bought this rig.

demond wilson quote

"I love preaching more than anything else I've ever done. I'm so happy now. I feel honored to be chosen. Even when you got everything - clothes, jewelry, nice house - you don't feel happy. I was like Jonah, running from the Lord."

probably isnt on his high priority list to get that truck.

You never know what people cherish from there past. Although the 30 years or so I spent as an alcoholic Heroin addict, were horrible, painful, and cost me everything I ever had. They are what changed me into the man I am today. I consider myself very lucky to have not only survived, but learned many things about life, death, faith, and what is truly important in life, and what is not. Bad memories can end up being good ones, and good memories can end up being bad ones. That truck may just be a good reminder of how He (Demond Wilson) became who he is today. Just a thought.

I agree - It might have 600 people watching it though. Watch the last five minutes of the auction and there's going to be some heavy action.
Either that or the listing will get pulled and sold privately to an anonymous buyer overseas. Maybe it is listed only to draw attention to the fact it's for sale - it worked...we have all seen it now.
I must say that I told everyone in my family that it would a good birthday present for me. Course if it showed up with a big bow on it I still wouldn't know what to do with that truck. Except charge folks $10 to come to my house and look at it. Well that and get a big-azz loudspeaker like the one on the Bluesmobile and put the theme song at full volume and hit the parade circuit with a load of junk in the back.
Wasn't that an airplane tail in the back? I know where to find one of those....

I always liked the truck because it reminded me of my dad's truck, my F-2, when I was a kid. My dad was driving the truck about the same time the show was on.

I liked the truck but hated the show, found it too depressing and whinny. It's just me.

My Dad used to watch it too, but not for the truck, he drove a 48 3/4 ton Chevy. He thought Redd Foxx was funny.

Funny thing, when I bought my truck in 77 and took it to college that fall, kids called it the Sanford truck.... A 54 does not look like a 51/52. But I guess they were referring to the rust on my truck.... At least Sandford's and mine were both Fords, so my dumb college buddies got that right!

Ultra cool. Now, just buy it and host an open house, TS type meet so we all can some see it. You need that truck, Kevin.
