So, now you know why i'm selling it, (not that anyone cares about that part too much, lol) here are some details about the car.
I purchased the car earlier this year, but decided I wanted a truck for utility purposes instead of a 2nd excursion. So, I bought the truck and am now selling this as the new F350 has taken it's place.
The vehicle is NOT in perfect shape. I just want to tell everyone that I am being blatently honest with everyone on this upfront. I am not trying to hide anything!
The CONs to the vehicle.
1.) Needs two front wheel bearings. (cheap part as its a 2wd)
2.) Needs a Crankshaft position sensor (will likely be changed before the next buyer picks up the vehicle)
3.) It is throwing a code for #3 Glow Plug.
4.) There are small rust spots on it, but nothing that can't be touched up.
5.) The passengers step is falling partially broke in the rear. (hangs down about 2 inches)
6.) There is a tear in the leather, overall condition is about a 6.9/10.
7.) Overhead mpg indicator only works sometimes
8.) Missing the rear trim peice
9.) Missing a couple overhead vents in rear seats
As I stated, i'm trying to be as up front about this vehicle as I can!
Now, on to the good things.
I just spent a fortune replacing the entire rear braking system. (calipers, pads, rotors, etc. The vehicle now stops hard.
Items that work and work well:
AC/heat and other climate controls
Radio/CD player/changer
Cruise control
Power windows, locks, seats
Tow package
Remote start
Engine block heater
As far as I know, this vehicle has never towed anything large. It towed a popup camper (and you didn't even know it was there). It has seen upwards of 26 MPG (highway cruise control at 61 mph) by calculating it the good ol' fashion way. In town, it sees 18-20. Now, that includes idling for about 5 minutes on start up till heat gets into the motor and 1 minute on down idling to allow oil within the turbo to cool. The turbo still spools hard and pulls hard if you want it to.
I'm not a smoker and neither was the previous owner. I don't think anyone has ever smoked in the vehicle. It has a 3rd row seat and is all leather. I'm kind of meticulous about my vehicles and I make sure they are mechanically sound. I have been meaning to do the glowplugs and other touch ups, but just don't have the time. If I get to fixing everything, the price will go up slightly. Oil changes and Fuel Filter changes were done religiously.
But all in all, the vehicle isn't bad. It does great in snow for 2wd. Last winter in Michigan, we had one of the hardest winters in a couple decades and it had NO issues.
All in all, the vehicle is in pretty good shape. Decent tread on the tires, fresh brakes and over 20 MPG, not to mention another 300k + miles of life left in her. I just will never drive it again due to having too many vehicles, so i'm selling it. The miles may go up slightly as my parents are borrowing it till they find the perfect vehicle (2010 explorer w/ all the bells and whistles), so the mileage may go up at a rate of about 400 miles/month, but thats about it.
The vehicle is located in the Metro Detroit area and is available for showing pretty much anytime (as long as you give me a heads up). I'm not posting my phone number on here due to spam i've got on other sites, however, I absolutely will give you my number to further discuss the vehicle over a PM. Just don't want it in the open forum.
I hope this vehicle goes to someone who is as enthusiastic about the 7.3 L diesels as I am!
