I have the stock turbo right now so I don't think it'll be an issue but after I buy those rosewoods and upgrade my turbo I guess we will see.its all r&d for me until you guys.
I've got a 6.0 cooler on mine and it regularly sees 40psi boost with no problems.

On the hunt for a ic and all piping, I'm so excited that I can do this for under 12 hundred bucks, as the banks cost (: would I lose any boost with the intercooler? I have the stock turbo still. Also would the rosewoods stage 2 up the boost as I'm burning more fuel? Thanx to the brotherhood for all this info! I got hurt in a plant explosion and my truck was running bad, with only one arm at the time I decided to drop my truck off at the local diesel shop and 3 grand later it ran the same. I was upset as I paid in advanced and he no longer had timw for my truck.anyway, I brought it back and it sat for two more weeks , nothing done. I picked up my truck to get it painted and its still running the same? Later I called the shop to ask wich injectors were misfire and he said if I work on my truck then he will not warranty my new parts? I was pissed! To save confrentation I downloaded a bunch of electrical values like ohm loads on glow plugs and how to check the gp relay and I went through my wire harness one wire at a time. I found a burnt ground from the pcm to the chassis and it shorted to the back side of my idm. Upon further inspection I found a leak on my oil cooler that was misting on my pcm plug? Ha! I removed the pcm and it was rusted to the case behind the fire wall so I had to persuade it from the back side and saw the rubber leaking. I found the problem within the three hours I had it back compared to the 4 months it sat in his shop! Note to self, u gonna drive it, you gotta know how to work on it! My arm is healing now and I appreciate the good ideas! Thanx fte!

You might loose 1-2 psi, but you'll gain power from the cooler air.
Bigger injectors will give you more boost, especially if you have it tuned.

Have you considered transmission/clutch?

You are correct about working on these yourself. There are only a few shops that know what they are doing with these trucks.

Sorry for the delay in response.

As far as the PCM flash goes, it is a less expensive alternative to purchasing a chip. The downfall is that you will always be in that tune and you cannot go back to stock without getting the PCM re-flashed.

Basically, this is what I tell our customers... If you use the truck for more than one purpose, the PCM flash is not for you. However, if you only use the truck to tow, or only for daily driving, you will benefit from the PCM flash.

Tap into the hot side, the drivers side, for the boost and map. It gets better reading and response on that side.

Oldbird, u answered my question without me asking it about where to tap in for the boost gauge. I'm am so grateful for for the knowledge you all have shared with me in such a short amount of time. Its taken a bunch of stress (r&d) off me. Can I use some 3/8 neoprene hose or is there a complete guage assembly out there? I'm pretty handy as far as faburcation goes lol, but a ready to go guage package would be even better! I'm just now finding the aftermarket sites for this old stuff thanx to guys at fte. I hope I'm not getting on any bodys nerves with all the questions that I've been asking. Now I have direction.

The boost gauge usually comes with everything you need. There are a lot of options for gauges. RIFFRAFF FORD DIESEL PERFORMANCE PARTS

Site sponsor and has a LOT of 7.3 parts. He has higher quality, more expensive gauges, there are cheaper options some like and some don't.

I have a problem, after new batteries new idm and pcm it still won't run? I put a new gp relay and I'm getting 12v control, 12v constant but only 10 v on the other side to the gp, Bad relay? All my gp ohm out good and my valve cover harness are brannew. I jumped the gp relay from one side to outher and no start? Wth? Also the relay the shop installed buzzed for 90 seconds and some smoke after a few tries. It ran before I changed the pcm/idm. How do I check for fuel with out using ether?

You can check fuel pressure with a stick type tire pressure gauge at the schrader valve on the fuel filter canister. It looks like a tire valve stem. You should get 20 lbs. WHILE cranking. Did you change both the PCM and the IDM? If so, are you sure you were given the correct PCM? Any IDM for a 7.3 should work.

I'm pulling the pcm now to double check, it sounds like its outta time or something. The parts man didn't know wth was going on and I called back and he was shady over the phone. I'm gonna get my money back and get a motorcraft bc they have customer support. I'm happy to pay for customer service. Thanks farmert! I'm getting upset with my project, thousands spent and no real mods yet.
