we think my wife might have ran my 02 expedition out of gas and now that i have put plenty of gas in it, it will not start! I can hear the fuel pump coming on, and seem to have pressure at the rail, i have tried resetting by taking off the battery cables, tried resetting the fuel pump by fuel reset button. It wants to start but just won't run! Seems the more i try starting the quicker it stop turning and acts like its starting but dosen't! Please any ideas are appreciated!! Thanks

 

The fuel line could be dry. Have you tried starting fluid to see if the engine will run at all?

 

It seems to be getting fuel to the rail, feels like there something tripped not letting it start

 

Like alloro said I would try seeing if it runs with starting fluid. Could get a fuel pressure gauge and test pressure. Is the check engine light on? Any codes?

 

Maybe you just "think" but she probably "knows."

I'd replace the fuel filter. If ran dry, it might have picked up some tank debris and helped to reduce flow.

You might check to ensure you have about 40 psi at the rail.
