Passenger side has one plastic headlight adjustment nut on it, Driver side has both. NOS did not have any.
Ware marks from headlight bezels/doors are evident and unless properly prepped will chrome like this one did.
A couple of mounting tabs appear to be worn as do the ones on each side of the headlights.
The places on the grille that are worn did not occur from being on a shelf.
Personal opinion, this grille is nice but used. NOT!! NOS
Once again some uninformed, uneducated buyer will snap this up only to be let down once received.
On the other hand, a perfect grille to get chromed is hard to come by. I had mine chromed (it's a 66 grille) the cost was $700.00 now add the cost of the grille and you can pay $800.00 - $1000.00 depending on what you paid for the grille.
Good chrome is very expensive thanks to the EPA. Some chrome shops don't pay for the copper dip so the chrome sucks. Be careful who you use for chroming.
Bottom line, this grille is NOT, nos.

It is funny, He says NOS in the description, but then says the condition is used. I wonder if he really knows what the term NOS means

As original: No such thing as a 1964 chrome grille. This is a Standard Cab painted steel grille that has been chromed.

1962/66 Custom Cabs & 1965/66 Rangers have anodized aluminum grilles.

Only 1961 Custom Cabs have a chromed steel grille.

Look at listing again it has changed

The description has changed. It's no longer "Used" it is now "New"
Also added was this:

**This was purchased from the son of a Father that worked at
the Ford dealership and was special ordered for his sons 1964 Truck.
This is a steel, chromed grille with the FoMoCo stamping
and an April 1962 TK (truck) date**

Buyer beware, watch your money, don't get sucked in to these lies.

Lets just say it was ordered for a FOMOCO's employees son's truck, (we know not true, but for arguments sake). Now if it was ordered for a truck and presumably installed then it is not NOS.... hmmmm LMAO, these people crack me up. What would be even funnier if this was a member on this site.

Just to let you know that I talked with Dennis Carpenter about the 1964 Ford Truck Grille and he said that Ford did make a few special ordered metal chrome grilles you might want to argue with him and not me.

- susanandsuzyco

Sent a message to the seller prior to the change of used to new stating what NOS meant and here is the reply I got back. I think I hit a nerve.

What say you Number Dummy? I believe you because I have only ever seen a steel chromed 61 grill all others years have been steel painted or aluminum anodized

No no I sent them a message on that grill that it was not NOS and that it was used and they should change it from NOS. That is the reply I got from susanandsuzyco.

He should have started the bidding at $400 and hoped for $500.

Buy it now 1000 and shipping of 150. Are they really serious? I got a true NOS aluminum anodized grill still in the original Ford box for 475 and paid 55 to ship it. This person has lost their mind.

Same thing with the word "Mint" when talking about condition, much abused term.

NOS, to my way of thinking means "new, old stock" that's not to say it can't have shelf wear or maybe light corrosion or something like that, but not ever installed, no way. It's a description, not necessarily a cosmetic one if that makes sense.

"Mint" refers to condition - no dents, dings, scratches, wear, fading, etc. Thing is people use certain buzzwords to get people to look at their auction, whether the item is even close or not. Bad cess to them.
