opinions on heads?
So I believe this past summer I blew the radiator out of my 88 460 put a new one in and thermostat 160. Which is cold I know but if I blew a head I didn't want to see the temp gauge shoot through the roof and make it worse. But I'm thinking about going ahead and removing my heads to put new gaskets on there just to be sure. And it takes a few turns to start I think my valves are weak. So my question is with stock everything what would you have done to the heads? Making them a better performer. On a limited budget of like around 500?? Or cheaper if possible..

Look up "boport" user name. He runs a porting shop, and has done lots of porting, flow testing, large valves, and Dyno testing on the 460 efi heads.
Put a 180 thermostat in. The 160 sometimes doesn't allow the ecu out of closed loop, and it over fuels, runs rich, poor mpg....
Get some headers and decent exhaust as well.
