Glenn, do you ever have trouble steering at low speeds or is that just us 4WD guys with larger than stock tires? I was wondering if you were going to mod the pump/drill the orifice... I had a thread on it a while back...

I don't have any trouble steering at idle or low speeds. My 2wd mule with stock tires on it didn't have any problems either.

I changed the title of this thread so maybe more can become aware of the AC clutch. I'm like everybody else, when the ac works, it works. Why bother changing anything. Almost half the bearing fell out when I removed the pulley. The coil behind it was fried, like I said, its a wonder it didn't lock up. I ordered from that link I posted only to get a call that they were back ordered. So I paid a little more and ordered Motorcraft from Rock Auto. A little more $ I could have bought a new compressor with these parts already on it. The problem is, then I would have to do Freon, vac and recharge. I guess you might call this a gamble.

Thanks Richard, tried to rep you but.... I'm not going to replace the condenser unless I have to. Waiting on parts now and I'll see if the new clutch will do the job.

I replaced the ac clutch today with motorcraft parts. It took me about four attempts to get the 'air gap' set right but I now have ac!! Below are some links if anybody wants to know how to do this. In the little bag are four shims for the 'air gap'.
