Ouch, that hurt. Could have been much worse if it would have hit in the front or door,,,,,,,,or windshield.

Did he catch the filler too? At least your paint will be an easy match. Insurance job?

I just dread driving at night because of the stupid creatures. Even a possum or armadillo can do hundreds in damage.

Your lucky it was just a fender. My mothers uncle died in the 40s after he hit a deer it came thru windshield with the horns going through his chest.

OUCH! Sorry to see this, but glad no one was hurt (except the deer, I guess).

Maybe he couldn't see the forest green for the trees?

I hit a deer back in 1972 in a new Maverick Grabber. He jumped off an embankment on the side of the road and I hit him before the touched the asphalt. The trooper that worked the accident said that if the deer had jumped a fraction of a second later, he would have gone through the windshield. Guess Lady Luck was riding with me in that respect.

Did nearly $800 in damage to a car that cost a little over $2800 new a few weeks before.

I don't know about other parts of the country but deer are very abundant here in Tn. I've seen 12 or so in my front yard frequently. Managed to photograph a couple one afternoon playing in my front yard not far from the street.

I think people would slow down a little if they realized what was lurking just off the edge of the road especially at night.

Wow! You're so close to Nashville that I'm shocked you have that many deer in your area.

I was born in Clarksville, and I don't remember deer being that plentiful. Of course, that was a long time ago... in a land far, far away. You know, last century...

They are frquently seen grazing on shrubs in front of houses in a large subdivision near me.

They show up in my yard just about any time of the day.

So I just looked it up. Clarksville is in Montgomery County. Montgomery County leads the state in deer taken through October 4.

I'm moving back to TN... some day...

Steve, that is a real drag, In every metal bumping book that I've ever read, it says to unfold things in the reverse order of how they occurred. I for the life of me can never figure that out. I hope you can, Good luck. "PS" I'm very glad to hear no body got hurt.

I came within inches of hitting a bull elk who was "gettin' busy" with a doe right in the middle of the road down south of here. I was in a 90's Z28 doing 70, late night, would have slid right under his belly and he'd have been in my lap. 1200 lbs of meat doesn't just bounce off. Can't imagine what the antlers would do. After that, I don't drive after dusk in the mountains. The damn things are the same color as the road, too.
