Got head back today no cracks. Maybe things are looking up. Ground valves and seats also new guides and viton seals. $215. Dors any one sell just the replacement copper injector washers? Just replaced my caps and orings.

Installed drivers head today. Even with a engine hoist it is still difficult to do by yourself. I believe it would be much easier to align up without exh. manifold on head. Went to about 156nm on snapon wrench like 115lbft. Ruined one head gasket i believe. Scarred it up bad at water jacket hole at front of motor and popped out that little seal that goes around hole. O well. 1 down 1 to go.

Glowplugs injectors and pump tomorrow morning. Almost there. A shout out to rberry for the copper washers. He is a man of his word. Gonna mount. some of the brackets now for the turbo kit install later on once im sure all is good with this head install.

Got dumpster fired today. Whewwww. Dodnt squirt water anywhere held 47 lb oil cold. Crept up to 200 then settled down to 190-195ish. That dipsrick tube was a pain in my rump. Where does one get the oring for it? Glow plug relay went belly up while on this project so it took a while to fire. Running smooth now. Got to drain the tap water and fill with anifreeze now and put hood back on. Thanks to all those who gave info and what a great site to search for info. FTE helped make ot happen. Wealth of info. Thanks to racin too i aggravated him with several pm. Next on the list GP harness build then TURBO!

Well refilled with antifreeze today and apparently had it air locked. Couldnt get air out idling so drove it up the road and was too late when themostat finally opened. Over heated it for about 2mil setting on 240°. O well hopefuly no damage done.

Should have just kept the factory gauge then you wouldn't have known any different!

Doubt you did any real damage though

Paranoia comes free with any major repairs, no matter how sure of them you are.

Wow took it to work today. I wouldnt have thought a fresh topend would help that much. Fired up on block heater no gp. Pulled hills much better too. Not magical or drastic but definatly better. Fresh valve grind must have upped compression some over other heads.
