owners of multiple trucks ?

I see a lot of posters here that own as many as 5 cars/trucks. How do you guys swing the insurance rates? Liability insurance only on my 79 f150 is 600 bucks a year, and my 01 is 1000 bucks annually for full coverage. Here in Ky, liability is mandatory to get your yearly tags. Whats your secret ? Lot of lottery winners here ??

I have driven both, and have to agree with the in my go fast vehicles manual it is. However for daily driving a stick is the only way to go when gridlocked on an 8 lane interstate.

[edit] this was wierd guys! I reply to the "kids can't drive sticks" post and it gets posted here.......... hmmmmmmmmm........ Is casper playing tricks on me?

I try hard never to look at the bill.. Between 3 trucks, and 3 cars, and a tractor, insurance is the biggest bill we have. I get a discount for multiple vehicles, no fault claims, and something else I don't understand - my '96 is the cheapest, for some reason.

$600 for liability for a 1979 Ford? Have you shopped around for better rates?

I pay about $1400 a year for my three registered trucks, all with full coverage. My 68 F2504x4 stays at home, as a yard dog.

I pay 1468 per year (full coverage only on the '99 SD) I have the three trucks listed below, plus a tractor and a little foreign car for my grandmother to drive. I get the discount for multiples.
'99 SD is use for heavy hauling
'83 I use for backwoods, hard to reach places
'73 I use as Utility - (Welding Rig with Lincoln SA200)

Got a '92 Zetor Tractor insured with SAFECO (real cheap ins.)
'83 Maxima (for Granny)

Got 3 kids in College and I work ALL THE TIME!

I keep my trucks insured under the company policy and it hurts to pay that bill.

My service truck, 94 f350
Partners truck, 93 f350
backup truck, 87 f-350
all utility bodies w/lift gates

95 E-250 van (employee service van)
just aquired a 01 chevy express 3500 van w/d-max (emp. service van)
No flames please, got it for $3000 at the auction w/29,000 miles, needed body work, and rear doors. So for 5 grand total, it's out making me money right now.

Full cover on all add's around $4,500 to my premium.

my `98 f150 added 600 a year to my insurance premium with Progressive. driving safely keeps the cost down. in case you hadn't figured that out yet.

geez compared to all you guys insuranceis real cheap here in SD. I have no idea what i pay for 2 out 6 trucks but for both a year liability is less then 200. Thats a 66 f100 and a 77 f150 4x4.
PS the other 4 two are parts and two are projects.

Having vehicles listed as farm vehicles (most farmers know what i mean) really helps drop the price.
