2004 F150 4x4 front coil spring replacement

Sorry guys, I'm losing my memory fast. About a year ago, I replaced the front tie rod ends, ball joints, etc. I removed a 2" spacer lift that we had installed a few years ago. Now, I'm needing to finally replace the original shocks/springs (172,000 miles). I've got the new replacement OEM sized springs/shock assemblies on hand but am drawing a complete blank on what all needs to come off to remove/replace the springs.

Does the lower control arm have to be dropped? I've searched but can't seem to find a good step by step set of instructions.

Thanks in advance.

Lower control arm can stay bolted to the frame and spindle, but the strut needs to be unbolted from the control arm.

Search for leveling kit install the steps will be very similar.

Got them replaced

Thanks for the prompt reply ZSK.

The link had some great pics. Once I started removing nuts and bolts, it pretty well came back to me. Got the springs/shocks changed out this morning.

On a disappointing note, I've still got a front end pop / rattle that is intermittent and coming from what I thought would be the front suspension. In the past year, I've changed out the upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, control arm bushings, sway bar links and now, springs/shocks. I'm not sure what else remains. Maybe the pittman arm?

Even though you've replaced them recently, I'd still say sway bar end links. Unbolt them and see if it goes away. I ended up making an adapter to use the plain ole auto parts sway bar link kit with polyurethane bushings.
