Carb opinions

What I am working with 1964 f100 2wd, 292 y block all stock except for C4 auto tranny, ecz-9425-b manifold, log tube headers. Do you think this carb is a good fit?

I prefer Holley carbs but what ever you choose 600 cfm is over kill for a stock 292, something closer to 500 cfm will be more then you need..

It is bigger than needed for a stock motor but it should work well and if you have plans for future upgrades, then it will be about perfect.

I, too prefer Holley or Holley style carbs, mostly because they tend to be more tunable. I also find them to be easier to tune. If you decide to go with Holley, I highly recommend the 570 Street Avenger. They also offer a 465, that will be better suited to a mostly stock engine.

I run the 1405 on my Lincoln 317 Y block and have no complaints. When I changed to a conventional distributor the 1405 replaced the stock teapot carburetor. It's bigger than needed but I paid less than a tank of gas for it. After a quick cleaning I've got easy starting and good performance.
