EDGE Programmer Question
I'm new to the world of diesel trucks. I purchased a 2006 F-350 6.0l crew cab short bed a couple months ago and so far absolutely love it. I would like to get an EDGE Evolution programmer for it and just wanted to get some opinions and experiences on it from you all. Thanks in advance for your input!

I hate to break it to you but you are not going to like the answers you get, the edge is a hard tuner to run on the transmission and no one writes custom tunes for them. I run a juice with attitude cts on mine but it's strictly gauges and never comes off stock. But I have heard people thy run them smart and never have any issues.
If you want it tuned spend the money on a sct with custom tunes for your needs

They are hArd on them because they are just stock tunes not specific to your truck and needs, By smart I mean not running around like you stole it. I turned mine up once and you would have thought the trans was going to come apart. If and when I ever decide to run a tune I will be going SCT.

I had an evolution on my 6.0 when I had it and ran it just like you were describing. Economy 90% of the time, tow on occasion, and extreme like 3 times in the 2 years I had it. the good thing is that you have to stop and change tunes, so it's harder to horse whip the poor truck just as a spur of the moment thing. the records keeping feature Is handy. the performance difference really aint that great. mine would tend to slip the trans at the top of each gear after a while. the 5R110 is an amazing tranny but it does have it's limits. depending on your setup you'll probably see a little more smoke and a little more performance but nothing amazing. which is actually a good thing if you haven't done many supporting mods. My buddy is buying the old evolution off of me to use for gauges on his truck. it's already got a 6-gun installed so he just needs to monitor parameters.
