Door rattle
Just took my 2014 F150 FX4 to the dealer for a rattle in the front and rear passenger side doors that rattle with the windows down . Sounds bad when you close the door. Dealer told me it was normal. So here I am with a 50,000 dollar truck with 5,000 miles on it and they say thats normal even tho the drivers side doors do not make this noise.
Not really happy with FMC these days.

Are you missing any of the rubber door bumpers on the edge of the door. I bought my 2013 used and have not had a problem with the door rattle but noticed that I was missing the door stop bumpers on the drivers and rear drivers side doors. While searching for the part online, I found several threads about the door rattle and missing or worn out bumpers. There is a thread somewhere about altering the bumpers by putting a piece of hose around them to make them more stiff which seems to have solved a lot of the problem. I just need the bumpers, but the parts department at the dealer cannot find the correct part number because the part of the door where the bumpers are located is not shown on their diagrams. These are close but not exact... http://www.ebay.com/itm/231272296945?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I thought I had a rattle in my doors for the first year, one day I lubed the weather stripping and various bumpers with silicone spray and the "rattle" was gone! After some experimentation I found that a general wipe down with silicone spray plus silicone grease in the below spots virtually eliminated the 'rattle'
-top front corner of rear sueprcab doors
-nader pin rubber bushing
-the little conical bumpstops, where the insert into door sheet metal
Worked for me, but of course YMMV.

I ended up adding some foam tape to the backside of the black "plate" behind the interior door handle, and in between the door panel and the door itself. I also put some rubber vacuum caps on the plastic contact points on the back of the door panels. Seems to have taken care of the problem.

so I used to own a 2005 f-250 which was stolen about a month ago, so I bought a 2014 f-150 5.0....my only issue with this thing is I also have this door rattle, and when I hit pumps there is chirping noise that is coming from somewhere. Took it to the dealership, they had it for three days couldn't find anything.....ill try to grease about everything see what happens and post back

Update.
my truck has been to two different dealerships and they tell me the rattle is normal and say that they compared it to new trucks on the lot and say its the same. I smell a pile of crap here. So I took the panel off of the door and investigated and found what appears to be the window rattling in the track. The u-shaped track at the front and rear of the window seems a little sloppy in fit. The other doors feel tight but I can move the window back and forth with my hand and when I hold the window while shutting the door I get no more rattle.

I found your comment interesting. I had this crazy rattle for a while and I thought the front passenger door was loose. I tried to duplicate it but to no avail. Turns out the noise was coming from the shoulder adjuster mechanism at the B-pillar. I took the trim off, removed it, took it apart and I noticed that there is a c-shaped bracket that straddles another bracket. The gap between the two is excessive, well beyond what would be considered normal for two stamped pieces assembled to one another. I made a custom piece of plastic that I slid in between. Just waiting for some warmer weather to put it all back together. I want to put this rattle behind me as it was driving me crazy.

Just got a 2014 F-150 in August 2014...I have some kind of weird window rattle when the window is down (driver's side only so far...I think), but the door panels also rattle on bumps and the cab makes some kind of really weird shaking noise, coming from somewhere up high by the rear seats in the back. I don't really know how to describe it or exactly where it's coming from , but it's done that just about the whole time I've owned it. The only other weird noise it makes is on hard right turns pulling into a driveway, going over a bump, etc...some kind of a metal-to-metal noise that I wouldn't assume to be normal. Again, been there since the beginning. I haven't had a chance to leave it at a dealer for an undetermined amount of time for them to slowly figure this out. Other than those issues, I LOVE this truck.

Definitely NOT normal. My 2013 STX 5.0 scab makes no rattles, at all. The doors close solid whether the windows are up or down. When I hit a bump, not a sound other than anything i may have in the door storage area (change, pens, etc.). Since day 1 I have been remarkably surprised how solid it is. My best friend (XLT EcoBoost) and my uncle (Lariat EcoBoost) both have a 2013 (theirs are screw) also and both are solid as a rock also. I hope Crystal can help.
