Also just wanted to say I bought this truck for 4000.00 a couple of years ago, with minor rust in one cab corner. Running and driving!

That looks more like a $16K to $20K truck to me.

That is a beautiful 56 in my opinion. That's what I'm looking for, a driver that I can work on here and there and someday make pretty when I have more cash and the kids are on their own.

Thanks for all the replies and the recommendations on places to look. I'll be spending some time on here especially after seeing how welcoming and helpful you all are. It's nice as a new guy to have the enablers around! I'll be looking until I get deployed after Christmas and hopefully I can continue my search from there as well.

Yeah, I was wondering about that truck. You almost wonder if it is a scam.

Just looking at the sellers reply to someone's question about the price makes me pretty sure it's a scam.

Here are some 56's from your local enabler's club:

a 56 in Fresno, Calif. No motor, no tranny, no rust! Buy it now at $6900 or best offer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-100-Truck-1956-ford-pickup-f-100-truck-big-back-window-project-/151433529988?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2342244a84&item=151433529988&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
Here is a running 56 sold by a guy in Arizona that posts here occasionally that I trust. running, some patina, new interior, new bed floor made with old wood, etc...take a look... right now, 10 bids at $6,600 reserve not met:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-100-Standard-1956-ford-f-100-pickup-truck-1955-1954-1953-patina-/151429217635?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2341e27d63&item=151429217635&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
As others have said it might be better to pay for hauling then get one cheap near you and pay to fix it up. Good luck.

the only down-side (to me) is that it is a 6 banger not a Y-block. I wonder what the reserve is?
