Rear diff issue

Will a rear diff from a 1990 f250 fit (and work) on my 1995 f250 7.3?

I blew mine up 3 weeks ago, and the local mech is still waiting on parts from a distant land..

Thanks,
Mike

yes and or no.

if the '90 is a f250HD (yours is,due to the year) then it also sports the 10.25 full floating axle and not the semi floater of the LD.it should sport the tone ring in '90 (have the abs/vss sensor port.)

however,even if it's a full floater,it's a 'pre '93 10.25 sterling full floating axle.that means it sports a shorter pinion and yoke.slightly less desirable.
it also means it will work, but you'll need a conversion u-joint (napa can help you) and you'll need to swap out driveshafts possibly because of the shorter yoke.with the slip yoke end of my bw1356 t-case i didn't have any issues.the shaft could slide out just that little bit more and reach without issue.
(i had to use a pre '93 because 93-97 DRW PICKUP axles,only sport 4.10 and i needed 3.55.)

you'll also need to swap the U-bolt style for the older strap style for the u-joints.

it's not difficult to swap in the older 1st gen sterling.
