"sometimes something is not known because nobody has ever returned."

speaking only for myself, i wish to commend you, and thank you
for boldly going where nobody has ever returned.

auto transmissions are somewhat more tolerant of powertrain impulses
than manual gearboxes, as there is some slip built into the mechanism
that isn't there on a locked up gearbox... no cush on a six speed besides
the tires..........

should we start a poll on which gear we think will go *ping*?

i think it'll be third... first and second will smoke the tires, but
third will be able to hook up pretty solid....

in all seriousness, do you want to bet a $300 dollar widget against a
$3,000 trans?

No, not really. Sounds like the people have spoken. I'll unload this tuner for, hopefully, a bit more than I paid. I wish I had consulted you folks before buying it, but I was worried that I would miss out if I didn't hop on it.

You know the best part? You asked the question.

Next time post up your question first. More then likely you will see an answer within an hour.

Good luck

Just make sure that if you buy a used SCT unit that it's unlocked (unmarried).
I think they charge $150 to unlock one if it's not. Also that is a very good reason to
make a backup of you stock tune after you do apply a tune even the caned ones.
On the SCT site you can download a tool that will allow you to update the device
and make backups of all the data (tunes).

SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel!

Sean

EDIT : I just checked with SCT an the unlock price is right. I also found out I
need to apply some updates to my unit.

Sean is right on the $ to unlock/reset the SCT.

I was on the phone with them today checking on
just that info. While I was on the phone we got
to chatting and he asked for my SN and said I
really need to do an update I was way out of date.
So guess what I am doing right now.

Yes Updating the SCT device to the current firmware.
That will give me up to 10 custom files instead of the
3 I can do now. No charge was the best part.

All in all they really have good tech support at both
SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel! and Gearhead Automotive Performance

I am very happy with my tuner and programming.

Thanks for all the info guys! Certainly sounds like the SCT is the way to go. Once I sell this BD, I think 4 new tires may be my next investment, but then tuner after that.

How many times have seen a merger only to watch
the lesser of the two just go POOF after that happened?
Just something new for the Dog to chew on.
