Dual alternators?
#2
a heavy duty alternator will generate more current at mid to hi rpm's but at low rpms generate less......due to the loss of efficiency caused by the increase in air gaps within the thicker gauge internal coils.
dual alternators avoids this problem....you keep the low rpm efficiency since the windings use smaller wire guage and their is less air gaps....you get the high current output across the entire operating range.
