53 F-750 Brake Cylinder

I can't imagine that someone hasn't run into this issue before me, but I've tried "grinding down" through prior posts and can't seem to find anything on it. I lost the brakes on my '53 Big Job F-750, due to the right rear (lower) brake cylinder failure. I thought that I'd located a replacement at the local parts store (Centric # 134.82009), but it was not compatible. The two "mounting nubs" on the casting of the original cylinder (on the opposite side from the brake line and bleeder screw) were not on the Centric model. Does anyone know of a source for a replacement cylinder, or possibly a rebuild kit for the original one? Any help is greatly appreciated...thanks!!!

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately none of them panned out. The casting number on my cylinder is FD9568, and is evidently unique to the specific application of the F-750. Collector Auto Supply had one they thought would work, but it isn't the same cast number, and does not have the mounting "nubbies" on the back of the cylinder. I contacted a guy at Alretta Truck Parts (recommended by the local parts store), and he seemed very knowledgeable about overall braking systems, and was familiar with my particular cylinder. He told me "I haven't seen a NOS, or compatible replacement for that cylinder, for 35 years". He was less than encouraging, and wasn't fond of rebuilding/re-sleeving the cylinder I have. I, then, sent e-mails to White Post Restorations, and Apple Hydraulics, after finding their ads in Hemmings. They both replied that they could rebuild/re-sleeve my cylinder for approximately $120.00. Has anyone here had dealings with either of these vendors? Or, do you have any other place you would recommend for this service? Thanks!!

What was the exact failure of your cylinder. I was able to buy rebuild kits from NAPA for my 54 F-750 , all 6 cylinders. The inside of my cylinders were not mared to bad

As mentioned just above in PL6, measure the diameter of the cylinder and buy replacement cups or a kit if the casting is not too far gone. So far as sleeving, I've had good luck sleeving calipers of Corvettes years ago.
