Ford F150 One Piece Driveshaft Slip Bump- FIX!

I got a real good example of this concern in today and I show you guys. In this video I show what is causing it and just how to fix it. While this concern is well documented on the two piece drives hafts not much is out there specifically on the one piece drive shafts.

For all the money in warranty work for this alone, you would think Ford would simply drill/tap the spline section and add a grease zerk. Problem solved, serviceable by the customer, done and done. Thanks for another well done video

curious if not doing anything about the slip bump hurts anything.

all of our 2010's at work have this slip bump, most either don't notice or don't care so nothing is getting done about it (including mine).

any harm done if the slip bump never gets addressed?

most of the truck owners these days would forget to grease the driveshaft or complain that a modern truck still had a grease zerk on it.

Mine makes more of a "click" than a bump that you can feel. I figure it's probably the same thing. Any thoughts on the correct grease to use if you don't buy the kit from FoMoCo?

What's the current mileage on your truck, ecoboost12? If you'd like, I'd be happy to get you a list of other dealerships in your area. Just send me a PM with your ZIP code and I'll do the rest.

Great Info

Was looking for info on my 13 SCrew, but found this for my 07 R/C ! Here I just figured that the spare was low and moving back and forth, but this sounds exactly like what I'm feeling! Great post, teflon grease, here we come!

Hey fellas,
Purchased my truck new 12-28-2013. On 7-28-2014 I took my 2013 F-150 Screw to the dealer for transmission clunking. In stop and go rush hour traffic, it clunks between 10 & 30 mph. The dealer applied a transmission Technical service bulletin to the PCM/TCM (Powertrain control module and Transmission control module). I was told its a 'learning' transmission and the clunk would get better... NOT!

Sounds like the 'slip bump' issue would fix my truck as well. Great video and information.

Adios.

I'd imagine it would wear to a point it will have enough play in it so it doesn't bind, or to the point it would break something possibly? Keep us posted Mike

My 2011 has this. I greased it about 2 months ago but I didn't use the teflon grease and its back. I just ordered some teflon grease and will do it again.
