Wiring question
I'm reinstalling an AM radio in my truck after removing the aftermarket crap from PO. On the connector behind the dash with the Yellow/Black wire and the Blue/Red wire that goes into the radio wiring harness connector, the PO cut the B/R wire flush with the connector. I popped out the connector and tried to bend up tabs and stripped B/R wire a bit, and crimped connector back on and put some solder.
I didn't get the tabs bent up as much as I would like before re-crimping wire to connector, and I am wondering if the connectors are available anywhere?
I've looked at several websites, and searched on here to no avail. Thanks guys.

I did a little more research. Ford didn't offer a pigtail repair harness and Ford really falls short on the individual terminals and connectors in their catalog.
The individual parts to repair the connection were available from Ford, just not listed in the parts catalog.
The parts you need are:
Sleeve (that's what Ford calls the plastic connector), green, type 19, 2 conductor
D3AZ-14489-U
Connector (that's the terminal) female. Ford uses an unusual "box" style
D8TZ-14474-A
Green Sales, Cincinnati, OH has 1 sleeve and 128 connectors (800) 543-4959
The terminals are called non-insulated open barrel terminals and require special crimpers specific to that style terminal. Regular crimpers will not work, I know, I tried.

I popped the terminal out, bent up the tabs as well as I could "crimped" it with some needle nose, soldered and heat shrank it.
This is on the male sleeve off of the main wiring harness.
In post #4, the square open barrel terminal is exactly what I need. I mean the one I used will probably be okay for the radio but would like to redo several on other parts of my harness too where PO hacked into harness and replace the hacked wire along with a new terminal.
Are the flat spade terminals available as well, and are both types specific to Ford, or would a good electronics shop have them? Struck out on Ebay for anything that remotely resembled them.
As a side note, in post 2, every Ford radio I've seen has that residue where it looks like a label was affixed, but no label. Anyone know what was there at one time?
Thanks again.

These terminals are specific to Ford. I don't know if they were ever used on something else.
The male terminal is also available, D2OZ-14474-D. Green Sales has 26 of those.
As for the radio, yes, there used to be a label there. I seem to remember one of the radios I have still has it, I'll have to look.
