how cold when you start it? and are you certin you don't have one bad glow plug? are you starting it to a idle or do you rev it up some, and it still smokes, brothers low CR motor will smoke, and did when he had one bad GP (was waiting for them to come in) would not pick up that cylinder till reved the **** out of it. does it start clean when the block heater is used?

Its still fairly warm here in MA so not plugging in at night, but it did this before and cleared up on its own all of a sudden....still need to test the gp's but the light does stay on for around 10 seconds...it starts and warms up worse now than in the winter when i've been plowing for 3 days straight without it being plugged in...

Conestoga diesel also makes good high quality injection stuff for our engines and have warranties on all of it.

remember your converter is unlocked in first and second and extreme heat from plowing will result, also if your flashers are on when towing the converter will not lock.

Maybe not a bad injector afterall.
Put a new carrier pump on and was still having some issues so I tested the GP's found I have 1 bad one....

BTW if your thinking about going carrier pump order it online well ahead of time...my other electric lift pump failed and I had to go directly to carrier $141 from them online its only $85

New Issue

Since the repairs the truck shuts down at random. Doesn't sputter, choke etc just shuts off starts right back up.

If I let off the pedal easy no issue if i just take foot off sometimes it just shuts off....

that is normally a sign of a dying injector pump.

have you filled the fuel filter up with ATF, run it for 30-45 seconds, and then let it sit overnight yet?

i used to get them from a local company a few miles away, but they sold out to fleet source who within 3 years closed down after screwing everything up. so i no longer have a source locally.

Contestoga diesel in PA might be able to help you. I think they have pumps ready to ship.
Good people, good product.

they're high on their prices though.they want $670 for a n/a or normal turbo ip there and provide no reason why they're charging more than their competitors.
Conestoga Diesel

here they can be scored for $525 and they provide reasons for their higher prices than some other places;
Injection Pumps Ford 6.9L 7.3L IDI

here is about the cheapest place around, but they have such a poor reputation that most steer clear.so apparently the $400 zone, doesn't buy the quality.
