this damn 7.3

Ok I have replaced almost every sensor, filter, so on... To get this beast running. I refuse to give up and thank god for fat pockets right now. I have spent in the neighborhood of $3000.00 since the "break down" and that was pretty much running out of fuel. Found oil to be low and so i changed it and the filter as well. This baby is a 2000 f-250 7.3. Parts replaced....icp, icm, pcm, cps, batterys, starter, fuel filter, gpr,.... Any help would be apperciated. Oh and since the new pcm no codes. I can get the truck to run with a bump of either and 1/4 throttle, and keep it running for quite some time , but when i let off of throttle it dies. It dies at about 1400 rpm.

That's ironic because he's derided because of his videos.

The guy has a lot of knowledge, and while he gets some stuff correct, he gets so much wrong it can hurt someone with a little or no knowledge of diesel engines.

Go to ANY 7.3L or 6.0L PSD internet forum and do a search on his name and you'll get hours of reading.

Stewart

PS - The guy started off good when he first started posting his vids, but as he posted more and his "knowledge" was sussed out, he became the butt end of the joke.

People have photoshopped his pic into all kinds of stuff, like a foil dunce cap one user here has done.

Was going to move this to the 7.3L forum, but it looks like the OP has a successful thread going on down there.

Bill Hewett knows a lot of stuff. But he doesn't know what he doesn't know, and where he fills in the blanks can be dangerous.

So to get back to this, if you still have the fat pockets the first thing I would buy is a good scan tool. Without being able to data log it will be a continual crap shoot/shot gun blast of parts until you eventually, possibly get it running again. I could make suggestions on additional parts to buy but why waste the money.

Where are you located? maybe someone nearby has the technology to give you some answers .
