Nothing gets us over the loss of a full adult companion like a clumsy fumbling puppy. It doesnt desolve the memories we had but somehow lets us feel like the circle of life goes on
Make him any breed you want and name him any one you want..Soon you will be doing the same interaction and feel whole again.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your buddy. My boxer could never understand why he no longer fit into my lap, because I would hold him when he was a puppy.

I understand your emotional feelings over the loss. I lost mine in June and it still hurts. I can't even look at pictures of her without getting teary eyed. I'm not ready for a new one yet and may never be. If I decide on another one in the future the bright side will be it will probably out live me...

I feel your pain ! I love my dogs! I had a chocolate lab who was my garage buddy, he was there with me through several builds. One of the hardest things I had to do was make the decision to put him down his quality of life was getting bad! I remember the house and garage were not the same! So after a week I said I'm getting another one, Barney now helps me in the garage!

I am so sorry to hear about your friend/companion. My wife and I put down our Spike earlier this year. I got tears in my eyes reading thru this. It does get better with time but you will never forget the joy they brought to your life. Thankfully we have 3 other 4 legged kids to keep us going.

Kevin, it's one of the worst feelings losing a buddy who lived only to please you. I've had a dog or dogs all my life except the 4 years I was in the service. And when they go, it is never easy. I've never gotten used to it. I have wished they would outlive me so I wouldn't have to go through that again.

Sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our Lab 1 1/2 years ago and still miss him. You are lucky to have had a bulldog; I always wanted one but never got to have one. Hang in there...

Kevin, our dogs are our family. Our dog also died on trip through the south. It was unexpected but we are still in shock. Our dogs love to ride in the old trucks.
We will be getting another very soon.

With You -

Lost two dogs this year to old age. I work at the Humane Society and recently adopted two young guys. They've already logged some truck miles. The new dogs did help with the grief.

Oh man that really sucks when your best pal passes on. Dogs are really a mans best friend, always there for you, never get mad at you, don't hold grudges, just want to be close. They look for you when you aren't around, like to hang out. and they get under your skin real fast. Sorry I have had several bull terriers over that last 33 years and when one passes on it still hurts. Once you get over the grieving you'll start getting bulldog withdrawals, and those are real tough, you will soon submit. Then you start looking around for mallethead II. Hope everything works out. Ps just let it go, shed the tears its okay.
