F-350 Camper Special rear gas tank ?
My truck is a '77 F-350 CS with dual tanks and I need to replace the hold down straps because they have rusted out.
Unfortunately LMC doesn't have any listings for F-350 parts.
LMC has lower straps that replace the skid pad and the upper straps listed for a Bronco. My rear tank is plastic and it's shorter and taller than a typical steel F-series tank. In the LMC catalog it looks very similar to the tank in a full size Bronco. Are they indeed the same? Are there any other places to source these parts from (other than Ford)?

I have 78 F350 with the 140in wb, same as the CS and TS. The issue with these trucks is that the frame is narrower than a regular truck. No one makes an O.E. style replacement tank from what I have researched and been told. Thats also why you won't find straps for it as well. My option is to have tank made, but I have been told tanks from other vehicles might work.

you are probably on your own...i've never seen one still intact from the 70s. i did some measuring and it looked like something from a K5 blazer could be made to work, but might hang down a bit below the frame. Chevy's have a similar frame width the our F350s (i have one too, and hit the same wall. 19 gallons doesn't go very far with a 460...)

Actually my tank is ok, I was hoping that if the Bronco tank was similar I could use those hold down straps.
I did some searching on the interweb and found the frame is indeed narrower as you say. The SCSs and CSs were built on 1 ton frames.
I also found a couple of older threads here that might help you guys:

The Bronco II tank fits and it's 23 gal. I happen to have one of those and I may do the swap just to get the added capacity!

look for an f350 cab and chassis dually, or fsuperduty up to 1997, they use a very similar rear tank, skid plate, and straps. I put one in my friends 78 scs, and one in my 75 f250 4x4 hb. the f350 crossmembers will also work in a highboy to put in a rear tank. I used an idi diesel tank so there is no electric fuel pump in the tank. These bolt right in, and are fairly easy to find. f350 duallys with a bed won't work.
