HEI dizzy in a 460 - What clock position?

I have a GM style HEI dizzy in my 460 and I'm ready to put on a set of cut to length custom ignition wires. I'm picky about routing them and I want them to look as neat and orderly as possible. I was looking at it last night and noticed that at two different points the wires have to cross each other right after leaving the cap.

So, what's the best clock position to minimize that mess? Right now I have the #1 wire at about 11 o'clock right next to the power terminal and it's pointing at the carb. The vacuum advance is pointing at the fan.

I just ordered a D.U.I. coil and module to up the fire power some. I'll just stare at the little drawing I made for a few more days to see of any better routing comes to mind.

Got the new coil, cap, and module installed last night. Looked at the wiring again and now I'm wondering if I can get straight wire ends for an HEI style cap. If the wires would come up like an old points cap instead of having 90 degree ends I think I can do a better job routing the wires. Maybe I can make it into town this weekend and check NAPA.

Straight spark plug boots and terminals will fit the cap. I picked some up but I'm not sure if I'm going to use them. They make the wires stick up pretty high off the cap.

Are you worried about cross-ignition or just tidiness? I wish my ford racing wires were cut to length, but I tidy them up as much as I can.

How about an old post update,,, I might continue this topic - is there a best place to put #1 on the distributer, in order to keep the routing as clean as possible.

It's a Model A Coup with an open engine bay, so of course it has to be pretty too.
The dizzy has the coil built into the cap - so cross distributer routing is no longer an option.

From my mental calculations, it looks like #1 at about 4 o'clock position - back of engine as 12 o'clock.

I have looms coming that hold the wires vertically below the valve covers and the custom length ignition leads

I you want the best place for #1, that would be about 8:00. Then the other wires will be in an inconvenient place. I don't know a better way around this, as I cross over the top of mine.

I didnt ever put new wires on, the old ones are doing fine. I ended up with #1 at about 1:00 or 2:00. i couldnt find a way to make the wire layout any better. This picture doesn't have any wire loom products in use. I think you could lay out the wires better.
