Of course the same could be said of the stellar fuel economy figures most of us are expecting.
On another note, I don't think most of us are surprised about the 5.0L engine being uprated. It's proven to be bulletproof in the Mustangs with over 400 HP on tap with 87 octane, so it stood to reason the next generation F150 would see closer to that number. The 5.0L is going to be a true rocket ship with these light aluminum bodies!

I don't think so. If anything it will be the fuel economy figures that will do that. They still have the DI 6.2L engine that makes 420 HP/460 ft-lbs AND gets 20 MPG. The F150 never has, and possibly never will have that.

The 2015 Silverado 1500 is boasting 24 MPG's with the 4.3L engine.

I read about the maximum tow and payload yesterday and wasn't surprised about the towing number, but I was about the max payload. The weight of a SuperCrew 4x4 was also listed at below 5000 lbs. too, which is a serious weight savings. I hope it translates into surprisingly better fuel economy as well.

I think the 5.0L will get my guess 23mpg highway in a Super crew in these new trucks. They are still talking 30mpg with the 2.7L EcoBoost. But Chevy is talking dropping Aluminum in their trucks here soon so this will be an interesting competition. They also have that Colorado diesel coming out too, but that will be fighting against a 2.8L Cummins Nissan Frontier. Nissan Titan with a 5.0L Cummins V8, I still feel like that is more engine than what that truck will be able to handle...I feel suspension issues are coming with that truck.

Something that I'm more interested in than who has the biggest "you know what" is, will Ford stay with the same 7200 and 7700 GVWR packages that they've maintained for years. If so, than this increases payload substantially across the line up.
Additionally, I can see the new found capabilities of the 5.0L eating sharply into Ecoboost sales. The cool thing is, you get a real V-8 workhorse without paying for the ecoboost premium.
