I did. A few sets now. I used self etching primer followed by john Deere blitz black (matte or semi gloss finish, I like it) the durability has been nothing short of amazing.

Take rims off, clean with acid based wheel cleaner , red scotch bride and pressure sprayer (wear gloves). Rinse good and let dry . Coat couple light coats of self etching primer and a couple medium coats of blitz black (available at john Deere dealers). I don't even take the tires off. I use a piece of card board cut in a s I circle to keep ost of the paint off, whatever is left is dusted with the black and you can't even tell and it wears off. It takes a bit of patience to get good coverage without runs. It holds up amazingly well. I am at a few year with NO noticceable wear.

Those do look nice! The durability on the blitz black is unmatched for price/ease of application.

Thank y'all for the help. I'm a 16-yr old with minimum funds so this is a great way for me to enhance my truck's look without using a lot of cash.

You do realize their is the stock steelies that Jake (fastback460) has and their is the ones they also used on F150s I believe from 87-96 F150s.
Like the ones on our 90 F150.

(if anybody has painted the ones like on our 90 F150 black and kept the beauty rings and middle caps I would love to see that)

I would love to see those wheels black with the trim ring and center cap left chrome. I can see that being really cool.

I bought the paint to do that Trav, but haven't had time to complete it. I'll be sure to post up pics when it does happen. Hopefully within a month or so, but that depends on OT.

Well if I get one more cap (with the black insert), fix the problem the engine has, I may beat you to the count painting those wheels as I really don't think the grayish silver looks good.

I have a set of the wheels like Jake has painted black on our 89 F350 and I have a set of stock rally wheels with chrome centers and beauty rings on our 85 Chevy van.

Done it before, real easy task to do if the rims are already in decent shape paint/rust wise.

This isn't exactly what you requested but pretty close. This pic was found on a different forum. I like the look of 31x10.50's on these 15x7 wheels.

Thanks that is close enough to let me know it will end up looking good.
One day I will have 31s on this truck but right now these 235s have a lot of tread so will run those for now.
