Looking for 302/332 Intake Manifold

I'm looking for a good intake manifold for our 1957 F800 with a 332. According to my research, from 1957 - 1963 the 332 and the 302 shared the same intake manifold. I have been trying to find parts to get this engine rebuilt for several months and this is the last part I need. The machine shop says ours is too far gone to save. If anyone has one laying around somewhere or knows someone who does, I would appreciate any and all leads.

Thanks,

Brian

The 302 didn't debut until 1964.

Critter, the 302 which he is speaking of is a lincoln y block. There were 2 displacements from what i have found. 302 and 332. I may know of 1, let me do some checking. How is yours "to far gone"? Doesn't seem like a part that would go bad.

I inquired about what the machine shop meant when they said it was too far gone. They guy went to the back and brought it up to show me. It had been repaired in two different places already but the issue what that on the under side in the very center of the manifold, it was burned through and completely gone. The metal surrounding the burned through area was very thin as well. They told me that as a last resort they could try to put a big patch on it, but that it would be difficult and would not work very well. They said the best solution was to find a new one. Any help in locating one is very much appreciated.

Here is a picture from the parts book of what the proper manifold looks like.

Thanks!

More then likely the area burned is where the cross over exhaust port is, if worst comes to worst and you can't find a manifold there may be a way to block the port off.

acfd's 302 is a Lincoln derived Y block, smaller brother of the 332 Lincoln derived Y block. These were installed in 1956/63 700 and larger series trucks.

T'other 302 was introduced Spring 1968 in Passenger Cars. F100, Econoline and Bronco got it in 1969.

B6Q-9424-A .. 2V Intake Manifold: 1954/56 279/317 / 1956 302/332 / Obsolete

C3TZ-9424-B .. 4V Intake Manifold: 1957/63 302/332 / Obsolete

C3TZ-9424-C .. 2V Intake Manifold: 1962/63 302/332 / Obsolete

C3TZ (1963) part number prefixes obviously aren't the original 1957 or 1962 prefixes, but I couldn't find out what numbers they replaced.

acfd ~ Suggest you ask this question in the LARGE TRUCK forum, most of the members of this forum have F100/350's.

I'm not having much luck in my search so far. I did run across this post about reparing the intake on a 68 Lincoln Continental. It appears to be the same intake that I am searching for. Does anyone know if this intake was used on Lincoln engines later than the 63 big trucks? Perhaps I can widen my search...

1968 Lincoln could have either a 460 or 462. The 462 was installed in 1966/67 and some 1968 Lincolns.

It's an enlarged version of the 430 used in 1958/59 Mercury Parklane's & Turnpike Cruisers, 1958/65 Lincoln's, optional in 1959/60 Thunderbirds.

Lincoln Continental Mark III introduced March 1968 as a 1969 model, has a 460.

I dunno if the 430 or 462 manifolds will work, the 460 manifold will not work.

Note: Read the last line in post 7.

430 uses different intake manifold gaskets than the 302/332.

Here's two pics from the 1949/59 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog of the 1959 Thunderbird 430 / Notice location of thermostat, timing cover is different. Block is a different casting.

Compare to 302/332 pic in post 10.

Have several Lincolns in their inventory that fit the bill for the intake.
Although not always the cheapest they will more than likely have the intake you need.
