Rear Wheel Bearings
#16
Matt
I havent investigated any further. Ive been traveling for work so haven't had time to look into it. Although before i left i checked my u-joints and they were all shot. Replaced them all and the carrier or center support bearing and noticed a huge improvement.
Although i have herd both about the rear wheel bearings "some movement is ok" and "any movement is bad" I'm still going to look into that when i got some free time in a week or two.

I sent my driveline to be inspected to try and figure out the 40-45 vibration I get. The guy said it was out of balance and the joints and center bearing were shot, so I had it rebuilt. I also pulled the axle shafts to inspect the rear hubs, and they were loose in both sides. When I replaced the bearings and seals (about a year ago) I followed the wsm specs on the bearing pre load. Turns out that was to loose! I had movement in both hubs. So I tightened them up a few clicks and now it's good to go. No more clunk! Also my vibration is gone.
