Help Best Possible Radiator

Hellooo. I Recently bought a 1976 F250 Ranger, with a 390 in it. The 390 has basically all 460 parts, it's cammed, NOT THE ORIGINAL ENGINE. Originaly had a 360 in it. The radiator was brittle and leaking. Time for a new one. I heard they run hot? So because of this i want to know the best possible radiator i should get. Period.

A 460 and a 390 share no common parts. Totally different engine family.

For the radiator find a super cool out of a later dent with a 460 and A/C. They are the biggest factory radiator you can get that bolts into our trucks.

Be aware that 1973/78 F100/350's with round headlamps use TWO different radiator supports.

One was only used with the Super Cooling Radiator, because it has a larger opening radius.

Super Cooling Radiator has a HUGE top tank, it's wider and deeper than the other radiators.

1973/76 F100/350 360/390 & 460 Super Cooling Radiator (D3TZ-8005-G): 24 11/16" high x 24 1/4" wide, core is 2 5/8" thick.

Fan shroud was also installed on these trucks with or without a Super Cooling Radiator.

1973/76 F100/350 360/390: Super Cooling Radiator uses a different shroud (C7TZ-8146-B) than the standard/xtra cooling & A/C radiator shroud (D3TZ-8146-C).

1973/79 F100/350 460's with Super Cooling Radiator use a different shroud (D3TZ-8146-D).

These shrouds are reproduced by Carpenter, which uses these Ford part numbers in his catalog, also lists their dimensions.

I went aftermarket aluminum and put in a BeCool radiator with dual electric fans. Thermostatically controlled plus a manual on and off override switch. Definitely keeps it running cooler plus I gained a little power and mpg not having a belt driven fan.
