Update on the E-Z clip hose parts:
The hose is Aeroquip, the fittings are Eaton and they may be available locally for you. I have found them at San Antonio Belt and also they are listed in the Granger catalogue.

That is a nice system. I just used bulk ac hose and the AC worm drive hose clamps when I rebuilt my dealer air in my 80.

Awesome post, great info!
Any pics of how that gen IV fits in the cab? I am looking to go vintage air as well, just overwhelmed at the different options available.

Nice looking job TractormanBill. Eaton bought Aeroquip about 8 or 10 years ago. They own Weatherhead hose now also.

drptop70ss,
I was just not happy with a bunch of plastic sticking out from under the dash so I went with the New Mark IV with metal and chrome plus I didn't want to cobble the glove box up.
I made small 2 flat plates that bolt to the bottom of the dash to extend toward the firewall about 2" long and used the supplied angle brackets to bolt to them on each side. Watch out for the location of the left glove box bolt. At first I covered that hole up and had to re-do. I don't remember if I used that bolt to attach the flat bracket or not. The back strap brace just bolted to the firewall.

I will check tonight and see if I can get a picture. I bought a couple of foot of chrome fender welt to go between the unit and the bottom of the dash.

How you like the picture above of the mounting of the dual cone speaker in the original hole?

Mark IV mounting in 52 F-1

Vintage Air Mark IV under dash mounting in 52 F-1 showing mounting brackets & mounting of trinary switch and dryer in right inner fender panel. Right hand mounting bracket is kind of an "L" shape to fit around the glove box mounting bolt.

That is a very neat, professional , clean install. Only one question I have , can you still get to and use the fresh air vent? I plan to also use underdash unit in mine . VERY sharp!

Thanks for the pics, very nice job on the install. Have you tested it out yet? That unit would be perfect for my 47 caddy.

Building AC hose with the E-Z Clip

I have ample room to grab the vent handle like a bat and work it. I mounted the unit as close to the glove box hinge as possible. If you look at the front view of the unit you can see the vent handle on the left of the unit.

I had a Boo Boo before I tried to charge the unit as I drilled into one hose behind the firewall when mounting an electrical harness clamp and had to make a new hose.

I seem to have a small leak when I try to pump it down so I will run a dye test Monday to see what I can find. Guess it might be the seal on the new compressor that had not seated

Building AC hose with the E-Z Clip

Ran the dye test on the AC and no leaks showed up. Charged the system and it blows cold like it is supposed to even with no windows in the truck!

Building AC hose with the E-Z Clip

All went well until I drilled a hole in one hose under the dash mounting the wiring harness in the engine compartment. Replaced the hose, charged the system and everything is COOL even without windows in the truck yet.

Looks great, Bill! Is the truck on the road yet, or just running in the shop?
